Description |
German Scrap gives such a special,
magical touch to collages! It can be extra fun to change their appearance
with various kinds of paints and inks. Here are a few of my favorite ways
to alter the German Scrap papers.

Instructions
1. Clean off the
German Scrap Papers with
rubbing alcohol.
2. Paint on the copper from Sophisticated
Finishes and let dry.
3. As soon as it is dry, usually less
than 15 minutes, paint on the antiquing solution. (The rust and the
patina green second solution are the same.) Note: It can take a few
minutes to several hours for the patina
to show.

Acrylic paints - White,

Paintbrush
Toothpick
Our German Scrap
Papers
Instructions
1. Paint the
German Scrap Papers with the
metallic copper paint. Let dry.
2. Mix up your patina color. Start with
a few drops of white and then add a little bit of green paint. I like to
use a toothpick for this. You should have a light green paint when
mixed. Then add a smaller amount of blue paint. The resulting color
should be a light green with a hint of blue.
3. Now apply the "patina" to a small
section of your copper painted German scrap. I usually use my finger for
this. I dab a bit on, and then spread it around. Do this until you are
happy with the results. You will want to aim to have some areas with a
light green/blue color while other areas, keep some of the copper paint
showing.

Note by Helga Strauss: Try adding
just about any kind of paint to our German scrap papers, wipe some of it
off and it'll look cool! I recently did this with Twinkling H20's in
different colors and they looked awesome!
