1.
The image needs drying time, so it’s best to prepare that first. Paint
the image with a layer of the gel medium and leave to dry. Repeat at
least 2 more times. When the final layer is dry, soak the image in tepid
water for 5-10 minutes. Then use your finger to gently rub the paper
off. If necessary, soak a little more so you can make sure all the paper
is removed.
2. Now create the design for your metal “frame”. For first attempts
(like this one), keep the design fairly simple. Rub the design with the
candle and then use the temporary glue to firmly attach the design to
the metal.
3. Place your metal on a rubber mat or a pile of paper. Your surface
should be firm, but still have some give to it. Using your embossing
tool, trace the design, using a slow, firm motion. The candle wax helps
your tool move smoothly across the metal.
4. Peel the paper off and, using the Diamond Glaze, firmly attach the
metal to the cardboard. Cut the corners off the metal so that you create
a nice mitre when you fold the edges of the metal over the cardboard.
5. Using the Diamond Glaze, attach the image to the metal. Then decorate
with the black scrap.
6. Finally, attach a loop of ribbon to the back for easy hanging.
