Instructions |
1. Cut
cardstock and vintage text to the same size as the Microscope Slide,
cutting text on the diagonal.
2. Using a new, sharp Xacto blade, cut out, trimming closely, the images
of the woman (from the ARTchix Studio free gift collage sheet) and the
tape measure. Also cut out the Italian villa from This Place Transparency
Sheet.
3. Run the woman, tape measure, transparency and vintage text through the
Xyron machine. Burnish well with a bone folder.
4. Apply images to the cardstock in this order; Vintage text,
transparency, woman, then tape measure. Trim everything to the same size
as the cardstock back.
5. Wipe down both sides of microscope slide with the paper towel and
alcohol. Be careful not to leave any fingerprints. Place slide over the
collage. Use mini bulldog clips to hold together.
6. Starting at the bottom, wrap the metal tape around the edge of the
glass and cardstock, centering the tape. Press tape edges flat against the
glass in the front and cardstock in the back, pinching in the corners as
you go. Burnish the tape with bone folder to smooth out and adhere
completely on the side, top and bottom. Be careful not to press too hard
or you will break the glass.
7. Bend Fold Over Decorative Attachment to fit around Microscope Slide as
shown. I find using 2 pairs of chain nose pliers makes this task MUCH
easier! Glue in place with Super glue or Jeweler's glue as shown leaving a
little space to thread the wire through. Glue pin back in place as well
using the same glue. Let dry COMPLETELY before proceeding.
8. Cut off a length of brass wire and thread through the attachment. Twist
wire around pin as desired, adding seed beads and Mini Star Charm as
shown. To finish, bring wire ends to the back and twist together, trim,
then cover ends with more metal tape burnishing well.
9. Sign the back (ALWAYS sign your work!) and wear with PRIDE!

Note by Helga Strauss: To create the simple pin on the upper
right....Cut out image from Flirt Collage Sheet. Sandwich between 2
Microscope Slides. Burnish tape with a bone folder to slides as described
in step #6 above. Press Self-Adhesive Pin Back to the back of the slide
and it's ready to wear.
