1. Cut and glue Vintage Ledger
Pages to the front and back of the book, not covering the spine. Many
times when I use writing as a background, I will have the writing run
vertically or upside down to create interest.
2. Antique the ledger pages with a light wash of watercolors using brown,
red, orange and yellow. Brush on, swoosh it around with your fingers and
wipe it off with paper towels.
3. Glue on a Vintage Cigar Strip to the spine and an additional strip
slightly overlapping the first one, so that the cigar bands show more on
the cover.
4. From an old telegram, cut out a
piece 4”x 5” and glue it to the book. From an Antique French letter, tear
an interesting piece and glue it on the telegram.
5. Cut out a 4”x5” piece of paper
and lay it over the telegram as a mask. Sponge a light wash of brown
watercolors around the telegram and remove the mask.
6. Paint a ˝” border of brown on
the telegram so when the Gold Medieval Border is glued on, the brown will
show through it.
7. Glue on the Gold Medieval
Border and the numbers.
8. Use words in a child’s book and
glue them on. The words "The Lazy Days of Summer" were glued on brown
cardstock first, cut out and then glued on.
9. Cut out a 1 ˝” circle from the
Seaside Cuties collage sheet and glue it onto the Optometrist Lens with
double sided adhesive and then glue the whole thing to the cover with
double sided adhesive.
10. Set the Pocket Watch Charm
down flat and stamp it with Memories Dye Ink pad. This highlights the
numbers. Glue the charm onto the book.
