Cute Holiday Ornaments

by Helga Strauss

Want to make some cute, unique holiday ornaments this year?

To start, collage desired images onto an XL Wood House Tag. I used images from Nude Muse, Christmas Backgrounds and Lovely Backgrounds sheets.

Give your edges a shabby chic look by putting a bit of white acrylic paint on your fingertip and then running it around the edges.

Paint Eco Antlers with white acrylic paint and glitter glue if desired.

Attach antlers to wood tag. I put a bit of E6000 glue onto a toothpick and used that to add the glue.

Glue on sequins.

Pull out Long Wood Label with 3 Holes and rubber stamp sentiment. Staz On ink works well for this.

If you want to give your wood label a more refined look, add eyelets. Here are some eyelets set into position.

To add eyelets, you'll need a metal block, eyelet setter and hammer.

Put the eyelet setter into the middle of your eyelet and smack the top of the eyelet setter with your hammer a couple of times. It's okay if your eyelets don't look perfect on the back, just hammer any remaining edges down into place.

Even if your eyelets look ugly on the back...they'll still look nice on the front. Phew!

Poke holes at the bottom of your XL Wood House Tag with an awl. You want them to line up with the holes of your Long Wood Label.

Wire Long Wood Label to XL Wood House Tag and wire on Colorful Mini Bell too.

On the back of your ornament, consider signing it or writing a little note. A Sharpie pen works great for this.

Almost to the big reveal and Inca steps in the way...

Ta Da! Here is the cute holiday ornament all finished up. I added an eyelet at the top along with some ribbon to hang it.
