Flying Seahorse Earrings
by Helga Strauss
Harness the power and beauty of seahorses by whipping up a pair of these fun earrings!
Supplies needed:
Classic Photo Charms (1" Round with 2 Loops)
Small Brass Wings
Red Seahorses
Dress Me Up Dolls collage sheet
1" round punch or scissors
Ranger Glossy Accents or Ice Resin
Metal hole punch
Jumprings
Earring wires
Flat nose pliers

First, lay out all of your supplies: Photo Charms, Seahorses, Wings, Beads, Tools listed above and Paper Images (I used a 1" round hole punch to punch out the blue rounds from our Dress Me Up Dolls collage sheet).

Because I was short on time, I used Ranger's Glossy Accents as the adhesive and sealer in these earrings. I think this is perfect if you just want to wear these earrings now and then. But if you want a jeweler's finish...then I would recommend using Ice Resin. Ranger's Glossy Accents doesn't give you the super hard finish like Ice Resin does. But if you're pinched for time, it works okay (and only takes about an hour or two to dry.) Ice Resin takes at least overnight to dry and 3 days to cure.
Spread a coat of Ranger's Glossy Accents into the bed of the Photo Charm.

Firmly push blue paper down into photo charm and apply pressure evenly around. Have a paper towel on hand to wipe away any excess glue. Next, apply coat of Glossy Accents to back of seahorse.

Firmly push seahorse down into place. And then drip in lots of Glossy Accents to seal all papers and fill photo charm. Let dry. (approx. 1-2 hours).

Meanwhile, punch holes in Small Brass Wings. Make marks with a Sharpie on where you want the holes first.

Then slide the wing into the metal hole punch and slowly twist the handles.

Voila, wings with holes!

Add jumprings to little red teardrops.

Now your earrings are ready to assemble. On the right is a finished earring. And on the left, that's the items you need to complete it. Simply add ear wires and then add the wing and teardrop with a jumpring. Easy peasy!

Flying Seahorse earrings are ready! Hooray!

Bruno thinks they're cool!

I do too!
