Pop-Up Creative Station: Happy Halloween

Join me for this super fun, free, monthly, community event! It's so fun and healing to make lovely things with our hands. All materials provided. All abilities welcome. 

On October 21, join us as we make festive Halloween delights in the gorgeous Carr House dining room, where Emily Carr taught art classes over 100 years ago. Fun for all!

Beacon Hill Art Walks:
Beacon Hill

Carr House + Beacon Hill Park
 

Join me, local therapeutic artist, Helga Strauss, as I lead an Art Walk to and through beautiful Beacon Hill Park. Walk in the steps of Emily Carr and discover one of her favourite sketching spots. On October 6th, we will head uphill to a much-loved spot.

This 2 hour art class will focus on looking at the local flora and fauna, gathering inspiration, and learning accessible art techniques. All materials are provided, or supplement with your own. Open to all skill levels.


Meet at Carr House at 10:00am and dress for the weather and for walking. We will walk up to the park and create art on the spot, or capture inspiration and make art together back in the Carr House classroom (weather dependent). 

Cost per person is $25.

Helga's Terrific Tree Tour: Autumn Splendor

Do you love Autumn? The colours, the nuts, the berries, oh my! My theme for this year is TREES. So, I've been learning lots about trees and doing some kind of tree-inspired art everyday. I would love to share some of my fascinating findings with you. Like did you know that our beautiful Beacon Hill Park is designated as a Heritage Tree site? It has an abundance of exquisite native and exotic trees, many over a hundred years old. Join me for a special walking tour featuring gorgeous trees with beautiful Fall colours and learn fun facts and insights. And at the end of the tour, you'll be invited to create a bit of Autumn tree-inspired art if you wish - totally optional.
 
Meet in front of the Children's Farm on Circle Drive in Beacon Hill Park.

By donation (suggested donation of $20).
