Emily Carr Art Walk:
Beacon Hill Park
Fri, April 19, 2024: 10am-Noon
Sat, April 20, 2024: 10am-Noon

Join me, local therapeutic artist, Helga Strauss, as I lead an Art Walk to and through beautiful Beacon Hill Park. Walk in the steps of Emily Carr and discover one of her favourite sketching spots.

This 2 hour art class will focus on looking at the local flora and fauna, gathering inspiration, and learning accessible art techniques. All materials are provided, or supplement with your own. Open to all skill levels.

Meet at Carr House and dress for the weather and for walking. We will walk up to the park and create art on the spot, or capture inspiration and make art together back in the Carr House classroom (weather dependent).

Cost per person is $25.

Please book this tour/art class through the Carr House website:

More dates in 2024 to come! Enjoy Emily Carr Walks with a new location every month through the Spring/ Summer 2024 at Carr House!

I'm in love and obsessed with trees. As an artist, I've been creating some type of tree-inspired art every day for over a year. I would love to share some of my fascinating findings with you. Like did you know that our beautiful Beacon Hill Park is designated as a Heritage Tree site? It has an abundance of exquisite native and exotic trees, many over a hundred years old. Join me for a special walking tour featuring gorgeous trees and learn fun facts and insights.

In connection with my Trees Art Exhibit at Carr House in April/ May, I'm offering several tree tours. Please sign up through Carr House

Please know that I'm also available for Private Tree Tours of Beacon Hill Park for you, yourself and small groups. Generally, it's by donation (suggested donation of $20 per person) and they usually take apporx. 1 1/2 hours. I am happy to make a custom tour if you'd like to learn about specific trees...like our local, native trees. Or trees from exotic places... perhaps a mini trip around the world through trees? P
lease email me to book.
